LeBron Raymone James Sr. (born December 30, 1984) was an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). King James has been widely acknowledged as one of history's most outstanding players in basketball. Michael Jordan is usually considered when discussing who's the greatest player. James was awarded four NBA championships as well as four NBA MVPs, three All-Star MVPs and the two Olympic medals. James holds the record for the highest amount of points scored during the post-season, second best overall career score and 7th most career assists. Additionally, as an NBA All-Star, James was picked to the NBA All-NBA Team on 18 occasions. He was the 3rd player to participate in NBA Finals. Eight of those were consecutive from the year 2011 until 2018. James was named to the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team for 2021. James became the first NBA player to score 10,000 points, rebound and assists in 2022. James was a student at St. Vincent St. Mary High School in Akron in Ohio. James was feted by media across the nation as the future NBA super star. In 2003, the Cleveland Cavaliers selected him with the number one pick of the NBA draft in 2003. The 2004 NBA Rookie of the Year, the player quickly became one of the league's premier players winning an NBA MVP award in 2009 and 2010. James signed a free-agent contract following his failure to win championships with Cleveland. He made the decision to leave Cleveland in order to join Miami Heat, announced on The Decision, a popular television show The Decision, is considered among the most controversial free agent actions in sports history.
